Dr. DeSantis chose periodontics to help people with dental disease become more motivated to improve their oral health. It is important for her to treat everyone with compassion. She enjoys helping people who are dental phobic become more comfortable with treatment so they can enjoy better dental health. She treats every patient with respect and kindness while focusing on a conservative, often pain-free approach to treatment. Most of all, she hopes to give every patient excellent periodontal care without fear or unnecessary discomfort.

Dr. DeSantis prides herself on providing customized periodontal treatment to her patients. She takes the time to really listen to her patients so that she can understand their expectations. Not only will she guide you through your visit to thoroughly explain the causes of periodontal disease and tooth loss, but she will provide multiple options to try to bring you back to optimal oral health. She often takes a more conservative approach to treatment and she will explain the pros and cons of all possibilities. She takes the time to answer any questions that you may have so that you can be confident in your treatment plan.

Dr. DeSantis completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. She then went on to complete a 2-year General Practice Residency at Staten Island University Hospital where she served as Chief Resident during her 2nd year. At that time, she became determined to help patients with periodontal disease and tooth loss. She continued her post doctoral education at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine Advanced Education in Periodontics and Implants. She has been practicing in Islip, NY for the last 17 years prior to coming to Sayville, NY. She is a member of the American Dental Association as well as The American Academy of Periodontics and the Suffolk County Dental Society. She is married with 2 children and she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family when she is not treating patients.
